Q: What’s our featured baked good?

A: Well – we like to specialize in Gluten Free Treats, Vegan Treats, and made-to-order sandwiches. Creating those Gluten Free and Vegan Treats is super important – there are so many folks suffering from gluten issues and it’s great to have vegan options for those who live by a strict Vegan diet… they need sweets too! Chocolate covered pretzels, rice krispie treats and candy can all be found on display (and for sale!) at our Lawrenceville location.

Q: What else is amazing about Lawrenceville?
A: We have – count em – one, TWO – floors =) On the bottom we have our Sweet Boutique store front. Walk in and choose from all sorts of sweet treats… we have coffee, breakfast pastries, and made-to-order sandwiches for your morning and mid-day foodie routines. After you grab your sweet treat – head on up the stairs to our dual purpose room – also used for parties and business meetings! Long tables, chairs & privacy.

Lawrenceville is also the only location that has donuts, ready and hot – every single day! Located in one of Pittsburgh’s trendiest districts, with free on-street parking and the city’s only FryDaddy Station known-to-man.

Q: What’s a FryDaddy Station?
A: Think of the best carnival sweet you’ve ever had and that is what the FryDaddy Station is! Fried Oreos, twinkies funnel cakes – as far as the sweet-eye can dream! Like a (Cake) Boss

Thanks to TLC, the term ‘Cake-Boss’ is self-explanatory! While we are a fan of Buddy, the real-life Cake Boss… we’re going to ‘borrow’ his term for the sake of this post to explain to you all the Cake Decorating Classes we offer at our Lawrenceville, Sweet Boutique location!

Now that we have an extra room up above our Sweet Boutique in Lawrenceville, we’re putting it to good use and hosting Cake-Decorating Classes for those sweet treats-lovers who want to indulge a bit more. Now, everyone can make their own amazing cakes, right in their very own kitchen! We offer classes to all-ages*, too!

Kids will learn fondant handling, techniques, color altering and cake covering; while also mastering rolling techniques & 2D Cake Construction! Adults, 13 and up can choose form class options like: Sculpting Cake Classes, Buttercream Icing & Fondant Icing Technique Classes.

The coolest part? No experience necessary. Come to learn and/or come for fun! There will be a knowledgable instructor, plus instructor’s assistant, guiding you through each class session. And, all the materials are provided for you, all you have to do is show up on time =)

Deadline to sign-up is 2 days before the actual class; payment must be submitted before class to secure your spot; all classes held in the Lawrenceville location, 3511 Butler Street.

Why, hello there, folks! Thank you for stopping by and reading our first ever post on the Bella Christie’s & Lil’ Z’s blog. We’re happy to have you here and even more excited to share with you this week’s features and specialty sweet treats!

Before we dive into what’s happening, here’s the month of May in review. Our #BellaChristiez sweet treats attended Maniac Magazine’s #PartyAtThePoint on the 14th. We made mini cupcakes and cake pops special for the party. We don’t have any pictures to share, because all their guests gobbled those sweets right up =) Baby Shower BBQ, Bella Christiez

Via our Bella Christie’s and Lil’ Z’s Social Feeds (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest) – aweek filled entirely of customized #KidCake pictures and testimonials as well as a week dedicated to Shower Cakes… showers of all kinds, too! Baby and Wedding, just to name a few. Here, to the right is one of our favorite photos…

Bella Christie's, Ice Cream Sandwich Pittsburgh

We also proudly announced our brand-new Ice Cream Sandwiches for Lawrenceville’s SweetBoutique location! These aren’t just any kind of ice-cream sandwich… we’re sandwiching our vanilla ice cream with donuts and brownies! Isn’t this the yummiest collage (to the left) you ever did see?

What’s new for this first week in June? …aside from those Ice Cream Sandwiches the entire summer in Lawrenceville, we’ve also implemented a new made-to-order breakfast and lunch sandwich menu. We’re stocked full with delicious egg-whites, meats, cheeses and veggies to create any sandwich, just how you like!

This Sunday, June 8th Bella Christiez Food-Truck will be on-location at Carnegie Library’s 2014 Reading Extravaganza from 12-5p! (Click the link for event information.)

Don’t forget! We now have TWO locations, our first Sweet Treats home in Aspinwall and now a #SweetBoutique in Lawrenceville. The name is the same, but the sweet-contents do differ a bit! Make sure you visit both locations to experience it all. Lawrenceville’s location not only serves up our traditional cookies, cakes, cupcakes & more – it also offers a cafe atmostphere and room upstairs for wi-fi working and a party space for hosting!
